It was a lonely but sunny day when a certain black man with a golden heart named Pastor Jose O. Sabud met by a group of Manobo headed by their leader named MAMACO ,Pastor Jose Sabud was a religious leader of a UCCP “United Church of Christ of the Philippines” from davao city .later on a few 56months a group of Teduray from North Upi,Cotabato came to Salangsang, headed by Carlos M. Verman and family ,Emelio Lala,Family Pungi Moadas  family , Edwin Umpal family, Melanio lagasan,Sr family.   Relatives left upi because of some tribal problem.

            The group joined Pastor Jose Sabud lead the Manobo’s and Teduray group to live peacefully and lead them in the way of farming and school problem .The place is called BAKBAKEN because there were many frogs a Manobo term for the first time the Teduray from upi,cannot ask any plants from the manobo’s if there is no barter  a exchange like tubao hanker chip and clothings .

            The group leaders the people in their livelihood especially in farming.

The Christians families is south kisabe were Tito Managad and Dikoy Obamos.after a few months

 Pastor Jose O. Sabud and the Tedurays and Manobos built a chapel in order to give good news to the Manobos , and later on all the inhabitants in said place were living peacefully.

            After a few months of  peaceful leaving a few suggested to change the name of the place Bakbaken.so the suggestion is SARANGSANG but later on the name changed to Salangsang. Because so many source of water like branches.

            The first “Tenyente del Banio “ was Pungi and Moadas he has been serving for 3 years ,and after his term.this was the time Pastor.got married one of the beautiful lady named Benita John

            Segundo Biad was chosen  to be the next “Tenyente del Bario”

In the year 1964-1968 the next “Tenyente del Bario”voted was late Hon.Felipe E. Galve and  his companions “Tenyente del Bario Felipe E. Galve –Tenyente del Bario

The barrio that time was improving due to the interest of the people to in their harvest income and school has improved. but due to the bad incident of the “trothpich” group who come to Barangay Salangsang to fight the muslim.

            They come to faught with the Muslims in front of Barangay elementary school road. After one day of fighting the group went back to Upi.Cotabato the very reason why the people of Bario Salangsang were scattered in many places due to evacuation.

            The next administration was under the leadership of Barangay Captain Enrique L. Verman before that the family of Barangay captain Enrique L. Verman was leaving as evacuees in Barangay Basak ,Lebak for 2 years since the fight in Barangay Salangsang.the late mayor Romeo R. Almirante and the  late Sgt. Police Felipe E. Galve  convinced Enrique L. Verman and family to go back to Barangay Salangsang in order to lead the people then after that Enrique L. Verman went back to Barangay Salangsang with the family of Melanio Lagasan Sr. and Loriel Daanoy & family, Alberto Ramos & family,Sebelo Lagasan & family

            Then they started leaving peacefully in Barangay salangsang with an escort soldiers living in Salangsang to safeguard their living.

            So Barangay Captain Enrique L. vermin send a radio message to DXMS as panawagan broadcast calling the Barangay settlers who fled to the diffirent places due to the trouble made in Barangay Salangsang before go back to the Barangay Salangsang.

            Then came election tune where Enrique L. Verman won as the Barangay captain with his councillors as follows:

The Barangay that time has been successful in every activities in the municipality, as we won the cultural dance contest and in the purok first placer .

            That the civil war  in Lebak brake after the celebration then kag.Pepito  C. Ramos with his companions went down to Lebak to help the family of Barangay Captain Enrique L. Verman but he was killed in Tibpuan by the rebels on march 3, 1973.

            The next term was in 1976-1989Hon. Enrique L. Verman won again in the Barangay election with his Barangay council members were:

            The Barangay officials suffered much in the Barangay expenses, especially the time in the are group of visitors coming but because of the big help of the Barangay constituents they also survive in the hardship.

            The Barangay water system was also awarded to the Barangay in the amount of P25, 000.00, the people of Barangay Salangsang got bamboo as tube of the water in order to bring the water to the Barangay Poblacion,it was cut from “Kabulnan”,Kulaman.

            The term of office was pialong due to the term of late Hon. President Ferdinand E. Marcos.

            One school blg. Concrete was given to us.
